Welcome DimDim users — We kept the light on for you!

Update: Please note that AnyMeeting was known as Freebinar prior to 3/26/11. Blog posts prior to this date may still mention Freebinar. For more information, please review our blog post or FAQ’s.

If you’re as involved in the web conferencing and webinar industry as we are, I’m sure DimDim’s acquisition by Salesforce.com got your attention.  But what really got our attention is that they’re going to be shutting down their service permanently on March 15th.  This means that if you had a DimDim account, you can kiss it goodbye!

Well, we’d love to help.

Freebinar has most of the features of DimDim, and is truly free.  The big difference between Freebinar and DimDim  (or all of the other “freemium” web conferencing providers) is that we truly never need to charge our customers, because we’re advertiser supported.  This means that we won’t be constantly trying to get you to upgrade to a “Pro” version, in order to be able to keep the lights on.  Also, instead of keeping all of the best features for a paid version, we give it all away, because we want you to love our service and use it whenever you need to communicate or collaborate.

So go ahead and sign up for our truly free service — we’ll keep the lights on for you.

  1. How can I show a power point AND host a meeting at the same time. I can’t keep juggling between screens while I am presenting. Makes no sense. And when my power point is up, it is full screen or nothing, preventing me from seeing the freebinar tools and communications???? Help!

    1. Thank you for the feedback. We’ve just launched a usability improvement to our screen sharing plug-in which should help solve these issues. Presenters are now notified of incoming text chat messages while in application sharing mode. For more details, please see our recent blog post: http://blog.freebinar.com?p=182

    2. The new version of our screen sharing plug-in includes an upgrade to application sharing mode. This includes text chat notifications and the ability to switch between programs being shared directly from the system tray. Hopefully this resolves most of the usability issues you encountered. For more information, please see our blog post on this topic: https://blog.anymeeting.com/?p=182

  2. I agree with Gerhard completely. We were using DimDim for free and then had to upgrade to the Pro one. We were happy, thgouh there was som flaws. I am very impressed by freebinar so far!
